The Biblical Picture
The main purpose of Lent is spiritual preparation for celebrating Jesus’ resurrection. We use this season to:
Reflect on our relationship with God; Repent of sin; Practice spiritual disciplines (prayer, fasting, generosity).
In this new sermon series, we need to recognize that because sin is a regular occurrence, it numbs us to its horror. We need to regularly remind ourselves of what the Bible says about the horror of sin. Today we cast a wide net on Old and New Testament scriptures to try to train our minds and hearts to see how God views sin and how we should as well.
