CloseIn the final sermon on the series, Pastor Nate summarized the lessons about Koinonia and how those can impact us individually, and collectively as a church body. Koinonia is first, a deep, shared, transformational relationship with God. Next, Koinonia is a deep, shared, transformational relationship with others. Scripture is clear the recipe for spiritual growth or spiritual formation in our lives is Koinonia…first with the Father through Jesus by the Holy Spirit, and second with other believers. A quote from Dallas Willard: “We don’t believe something by merely saying we believe it, or even when we believe that we believe it. We believe something when we act as if it were true.” What steps will we take to remedy what’s wrong and make Koinonia happen in our lives: Step 1 – Attend Sunday morning service; Step 2 – Engage with others from church outside of the building; Step 3 – Develop Koinonia through Awestruck, Men’s Ministry or Women’s Ministry; Step 4 – Serve others by using a gift to build the body of Jesus Christ here at Catalyst; Step 5 – coming this fall…Join a Life Group, meet weekly with a few people from Catalyst, share a meal, share your lives, share scripture and prayer. Scriptures referenced: 1 John 1:1-4; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 2:32-35; Philippians 2:1-11.
