The Gospel of David – part 5 – Training Our Hearts

David is a man after God's own heart but that doesn't mean he is perfect. We see a "slow fade" principle with sin in his life in 2 Samuel 11. David's neglect and disobedience started small but grew and grew until it reached critical mass in his life. When we are not where we are supposed to be, when we are not where God wants us to be and doing what we are supposed to do, we are on the edge of a catastrophe, we are ripe for the picking by the enemy. David believed a lie about what would make him happy. What do we see about the effects of allowing "small" sin to sit untouched and unconfessed in our lives? How can we learn from David's sin? How can we be disciples with these same tendencies in our lives? Scriptures referenced: 2 Samuel 11:1-27, Proverbs 14:12, Deuteronomy 17:17-20, Proverbs 10:9, Psalm 19:14, James 1:13-15.

Scripture References: 2 Samuel 11:1-27
