CloseTeach & Admonish One Another We often think of teaching and admonishing as what people “over us” do (Teachers/Pastors) and what we do to people “under us “(Children, Young Adults). However, the intent of this statement is that we are in active relationships “peer to peer” where we teach and admonish one another. Do you have a peer relationship with someone whom you have given permission to speak into your life with teaching and admonishing? Are you loving others by teaching and admonishing and also receiving teaching and admonition? Practical examples of applying this lesson: 1) Correcting a friend who is drifting; 2) Sharing something God has taught you; 3) Asking hard spiritual questions; 4) Helping someone make a Biblical decision; 5) Speaking up when someone is sinning; 6) Encouraging someone who is discouraged; 7) Sharing a testimony of something you’ve learned; 8) Correcting gently when you’re being the one corrected. Benefits of applying these: 1) We catch what we can’t see in ourselves; 2) We grow faster spiritually; 3) We are less likely to drift; 4) We become more accountable; 5) We become more humble; 6) We experience Biblical encouragement; 7) We are protected from isolation; 8) We become better equipped to help others.
