CloseThe passage in the message, Matthew 5:17-20, sets the tone and is the introduction to the main body of the Sermon on the Mount. We have all had the joy of rereading a story or watching a movie over again. It's more of a complete feeling to understand a story with the fulfillment of that story in mind. Do we do that with scripture? According to Jesus in this passage we should! In the age of grace that we are in, post Jesus and the cross, what is our attitude towards obeying God and following the Law? How should we understand law-keeping in our day and age? Scriptures referenced: Matthew 5:17-20, Psalm 148:3-6, Psalm 102:25-28, Romans 6, Exodus 19:3-6.
