Adultery and Lust: Jesus continues to take us deeper and deeper into the heart of God. It’s not good enough to just not commit adultery physically. That’s not far enough. We can commit sexual sin in our hearts and minds. This is a big problem! How can we become the kind of people who enjoy God’s good gift of sex at the right time and fight the urges at the wrong time? How can we be people who are obsessed with God and his way over our way? In our lives are we feeding our flesh or feeding our spirit? Pastor Nate offered three suggestions for stepping away from this sin in our lives. He also three suggestions for stepping towards God’s will for these temptations: memorize and meditate scripture that addresses the struggle, pray for purity of heart and a clear way out of temptation, and meeting with a trusted friend, spiritual advisor, counselor, or pastor for confession, repentance and accountability. Don’t fight these temptations alone!
