Divorce, Marriage and Oaths
The institution of marriage has become a joke in our culture today and we are seeing that within the church as well. The marriage covenant can be broken for a variety of simple reasons. What is our word worth today when we don't make good on our promises, especially in marriage? This was true in Jesus' day as well, but he pushed against easy divorce and the trampling of marriage, and we must do the same! What was the ideal that Jesus was teaching in Matthew 5 and Matthew 19? How can we passionately follow him with our marriages and promises?
