Where is Your Treasure?
Jesus continues his sermon on what His disciples will look like as they are changing and being changed by the Spirit. In this message, we look at another choice; will we choose to be obsessed with earthly treasure and money, or will we be obsessed with God? While we often try to straddle these two, we find that Jesus is pretty black and white…which one? Where is your heart? The worldview of God or heaven is very different than the worldview of the world, and these two worldviews conflict. Jesus’ response in this study was radical – to combat the sneaky and captivating pull of money and treasure. There were three focus points in his advice: live simply, practice sacrificial Kingdom generosity, and concentrate on heaven and the afterlife.
