Koinonia – Part 2

The study of Koinonia continues; and we see today what Koinonia looks like in action. Koinonia comes from the Greek word koinos, meaning “common” or “shared”. So koinonia fundamentally refers to sharing in something together. In the Bible, Acts 2 shows the birth of the early church. In it we see what they did as the Spirit led them into Koinonia with God and each other. If you translate this into a modern setting, “fellowship” would look like: people actually involved in each other’s lives, not just attending the same event; practical care with meals, financial help, presence in hard times; shared rhythms of eating, praying and celebrating together; and a willingness to be known, not just seen. Are you doing these things in your life? Are we doing these things here at Catalyst Church? Scriptures referenced: Acts 2:1-12, Acts 2:42-47.

Scripture References: Acts 2:42-47
