Koinonia – Part 5

Humility is right up there with Love as the most important characteristic we can have. Living in pride and arrogance breaks down true fellowship. We need the humility of Jesus produced in us by the Holy Spirit. How does humility open the door and sustain koinonia fellowship? 1 - Humility opens a door to and sustains Koinonia; 2 - Jesus modeled the humility that produces fellowship; 3 – Humility sustains unity in Koinonia; 4- Humility creates an atmosphere of grace and mercy; 5 – Humility encourages honest fellowship; 6 – Humility produces servanthood. We long for closer Koinonia with God; but we must realize that Koinonia with others is one of the main pathways to Koinonia with God. We need each other and fellowship with others requires us to have humility. Scriptures referenced: Philippians 2:1-8; Ephesians 4:1-3; James 4:6; Galatians 5:13-15.
