One Another – Part 2

Honor One Another Last week we covered Love One Another and we said that all the other One Anothers are specific ways to love one another. Today we look at Romans 12:10 to outdo one another in showing honor. Pastor Nate explained the analogy of the valuable vase vs. a plain vase and the front-row seat vs. the rest of the seating; and how we honor differently during these situations. The Greek word for honor can mean: honor, respect, Esteem value, recognition, and dignity. Why honor others? 1. People are made in God’s image; 2. God commands it; 3. It reflects Christ’s example; 4. Love requires honor; 5. Honor promotes peace and unity; 6. Different roles deserve honor; 7. Honoring others honors God. What are the results of honoring one another? Greater love and unity, peaceful relationships, a testimony to the world, receiving honor from God. May every moment of our lives bring honor to God, and this happens when we love others by honoring people who are made in God’s image.
